Privacy Policy

I'm Detective · Last updated: 20 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game I'm Detective (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use it. By installing or using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. The short version

The App is designed to collect as little as possible. Your game progress is stored only on your own device. We do not run servers that collect your personal data, we do not require an account, and we do not sell your data. The only outside parties that may process limited data are Google’s advertising and payment services, described below.

2. Information stored on your device

The App saves the following locally on your device (using your browser/app local storage). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us:

You can erase all of this at any time using Settings → Reset all progress in the App, or by uninstalling the App.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App offers optional rewarded video ads — for example, you may choose to watch an ad to receive an extra hint or life. These ads are served by Google AdMob. When an ad is shown, AdMob and its partners may collect and process certain information, which can include:

This processing is governed by Google’s own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can manage or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings. Ads are optional — if you never choose to watch one, no ad is requested.

4. Purchases (Google Play Billing)

If you buy an item in the App (such as Detective Pro or a case tier), the purchase is processed by the Google Play Store using Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details — Google handles the transaction. We only receive confirmation of whether a purchase succeeded, so the App can unlock the content you bought. Google’s handling of payment data is described in their privacy policy linked above.

5. Device permissions

6. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address it. Advertising shown in the App is configured to request non-personalized or age-appropriate ads where required by Google’s policies.

7. Data sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share data with third parties except for the advertising and payment providers (Google) strictly necessary to operate those features, as described above.

8. Your rights

Because your game data lives on your device, you are in control of it. You can delete it at any time through the App’s reset option or by uninstalling. For questions about data handled by Google’s ad or payment services, you can use the controls in your Google account and device settings, and Google’s privacy tools.

9. International users and data transfers

The App is available worldwide. Because the App stores your game data on your own device, that data stays in your country with you. Where limited information is processed by Google’s advertising and payment services (see Sections 3 and 4), Google may process and store that information on servers located in other countries, including the United States, under its own safeguards and privacy policy. By using the App you understand that these third-party services operate internationally.

10. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA or the UK, you have the following rights regarding personal data processed about you: the right to access, correct, or delete your data; the right to object to or restrict processing; and the right to data portability. Since we do not maintain accounts or a personal database, you exercise these rights over on-device data simply by resetting or uninstalling the App. For data handled by Google (advertising identifier, payment processing), please use Google’s privacy controls or contact Google directly.

The legal bases we rely on are: your consent (for example, when you choose to watch a rewarded ad), and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the App. Where required, advertising is configured to request non-personalized ads unless you consent otherwise. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. The only information that may be shared is with Google’s advertising service when you choose to view an ad, as described in Section 3. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

12. Data retention

On-device game data is retained until you reset it within the App or uninstall the App. We do not retain copies on our own servers because we do not operate any. Data processed by Google’s services is retained according to Google’s own retention policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
